Mission Statement
The Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1803-1806 was a major event that shaped the boundaries and the very future of the United States. It is the mission of the Circle of State Bicentennial Advisors to the National Lewis & Clark Bicentennial Council to commemorate that journey, re-kindle its spirit of discovery, and acclaim the contributions and goodwill of the native peoples.

In cooperation with all trail states, federal agencies and tribal governments - and all interested individuals and organizations, the Circle of State Bicentennial Advisors will advise the National Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Council on national bicentennial project priorities, commemorative signature event programs and planning, surveys and cooperative marketing and product merchandising, among other bicentennial programming. The Circle of State Bicentennial Advisors will promote cultural sensitivity and harmony, and the sustaining stewardship of natural and historical resources along the route of the Expedition.
